Health & Fitness Data
- Activity data (workouts, cycling, running, etc.)

- Meal plans and nutritional information

Location Data
With your permission, we collect location data to provide activity tracking, route planning, and route discovery features. You can disable location access at any time through your device settings.
Photos & Camera
With your permission, we access your camera to enable food scanning and barcode scanning features. Photos taken for food scanning are processed to identify nutritional information and are not stored permanently unless you choose to save them.
Contacts & Social Data
With your permission, we may access your contacts to help you find and connect with friends on striide. Contact data is used solely for friend discovery and is not shared with third parties.
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the app, including device information, app usage patterns, and crash reports.

- Personalisation: To tailor meal plans, recipes, fitness programmes, and recommendations to your goals, dietary preferences, and body profile.
- AI-Powered Features: To generate personalised recipes, analyse food from photos, and provide nutritional insights using artificial intelligence.
- Activity Tracking: To record and display your fitness activities, routes, and progress over time.
- Social Features: To enable you to connect with friends, share activities, and participate in the striide community.
- Communications: To send you account-related emails such as verification, password resets, and important service updates.
- Analytics: To understand how our app is used and to improve our services.
- Safety & Security: To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and protect against fraud.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to provide and improve our app:
- OpenAI: We use OpenAI's API to generate personalised recipes, meal plans, and fitness programmes. Text-based data (such as your dietary preferences and goals) may be sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI's use of data is governed by their privacy policy.
- Google Cloud Vision: We use Google Cloud Vision API for food scanning and image recognition. Photos you take for food scanning are sent to Google for analysis. Google's use of data is governed by their privacy notice.
- RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. Payment processing is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) depending on your device. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details.
- Resend: We use Resend to send transactional emails (e.g., email verification, password resets). Your email address is shared with Resend for this purpose.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the app's settings. Upon account deletion:
- Your profile, fitness data, meal plans, and saved recipes will be permanently deleted.
- Some data may be retained for a limited period to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
- Data already shared with third-party services (e.g., OpenAI, Google) is subject to those services' retention policies.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
